Charlie Rogers, CEO of Core Health Technologies, reached out to me on Friday with some great news. There has been a big upswing in the perception of Iguana in the marketplace for interface engines.
Every year Core Health does a major survey of IT professionals involved with integration within healthcare. Quoting from Corepoint Health’s report directly:
Significant growth in confidence for Corepoint, Iguana, and Rhapsody as Future Market Leaders. Corepoint (Corepoint Health) and Iguana (iNTERFACEWARE) each registered 17.1% of CIO/CMIO participants as their #1 choice for future market leader in the next 2-5 years. This is an increase in one year from 12.3% for Corepoint and 4.3% for Iguana. We also saw the corresponding decrease in CIO/CMIO confidence with Cloverleaf, decreasing from 19.8% (#1 choice) and 19.5% (1st-3rd choice) in 2012 to 15.7% (#1 choice) and 12.2%(1st-3rd choice) this year. Corepoint and Rhapsody (Orion Health) both had strong performance with the Manager participants, who selected them 17.1% and 15.2% respectively.
The following infographic nicely summarizes the change:
What’s the most crazy part? Look at the acceleration! We’ve come from 4.3%, which is practically within the margin of error, to 17.1% in one year! That is almost four times as many decision makers in the C-suite that see Iguana as the future market leader compared to 2012. In percentage terms that is just under 300%. By comparison our nearest competitor only grew by 39% from their position in 2012 – almost an order of magnitude less!
What’s driving the change?
It’s not just that interface developers can build traditional interfaces with Iguana up to 4 times faster than traditional engines .
- It’s that Iguana can be used to solve whole new classes of problems that you couldn’t touch with a traditional interface engine.
- It’s being able to do all the things like automating patient reminders, easily putting together dashboards and doing all sorts of non-traditional integration which makes the difference.
- It’s the fact that Iguana is redefining expectations of what an interface engine is and how it can help your business.
I think we are coming close to a tipping point in the market. Look at all the indicators. Our sales have grown 20% both for 2012 and 2013 and the projections for this year look even better. Last year we had our first user conference and based on the great ideas and value that people got from attending that event I expect we’ll see well over double the number of people attending our 2014 user conference. Our sales force is expanding and there some exciting technical innovations that we’ll be showing off soon.
Iguana is clearly no longer the best kept secret in healthcare integration! If you haven’t investigated Iguana yet then take the time to evaluate it and see how it could help your business. You can read the complete survey results at http://www.hl7x12.com/.
