The Challenge: Create unique/amazing/delightful/effective marketing pieces for the 2015 IGUANA User Conference with just a $20 budget!
This summer, we’re on a mission to have some random fun prove that you don’t have to spend a lot to create great marketing content. Can it be done? I guess we’re about to find out.
Welcome to iNTERFACEWARE’s 1st (annual?) $20 marketing challenge!
Last week, I started wondering: “What can you get for $20 these days?”. To find out, I thought I’d issue a challenge to the rest of the marketing team: Create something — really, ANYTHING — that helps promote this year’s IGUANA User Conference. The only catch: you can’t spend more than $20.
So, over the next month or so, the team and I will begin posting our creations here on our blog. When we’re all done, we’ll wrap it up with a vote and declare the winner of the “no budget marketing challenge”. I don’t know about you, but I’m both excited and terrified to see what we create.
Entry #1
Contestant: Art Harrison
Total Spend: $15
Explanation:
I knew it wasn’t fair for me to put a challenge like this out there and not come out of the gates with something pre-made. So, before I even announced the challenge, I “commissioned” the above piece.
Why a puppet?
I’ve recently been spending time in the evenings watching some of my favorite songs from The Muppet Show with my kids. Maybe that’s why I decided to go this route for my first entry. Whatever the reason, I hope you enjoy it!
What do you think?
- Do you think we’ve found our new mascot?
- Do you want to see more of our new friend?
- Do you think I’ve won the contest before it’s even begun?
- Do you think I just wasted $15?
