Kaj Pedersen, CTO of Pharmacy OneSource, part of Wolters Kluwer Clinical Solutions presents how his organization’s current architecture, designed to find adverse drug interactions for Pharmacy, overcame a massive increase in the volume of messages that needed to be processed in real-time. Kaj discusses how Pharmacy OneSource leveraged a number of capabilities in its platform architecture including IGUANA to support and manage over 700 concurrent interfaces with over 7 million daily HL7 messages from over 300 hospitals. Pharmacy OneSource has taken an evolutionary approach to their deployment of IGUANA and tied this to a re-architecture of their surveillance engine to help drive toward their mission of speed saving lives.
