Rapidly Expanding Hospital Management Company Utilizes Iguana to Incorporate New Hospitals into its Expanding Network
TORONTO, November 5 — iNTERFACEWARE®, a software provider committed to simplifying healthcare integration, today announced that Prime Healthcare Services, one of the largest hospital systems in the United States, is using iNTERFACEWARE’s Iguana® solution to seamlessly integrate recently acquired hospitals and healthcare organizations and their healthcare information infrastructures with its network. With iNTERFACEWARE, Prime Healthcare Services has streamlined operations, enhanced workflows and increased premiere patient services.
Through their subsidiaries, Prime Healthcare Services and the non-profit Prime Healthcare Foundation own and operate 20 acute-care hospitals in California, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Texas. Each of these hospitals had a unique IT infrastructure with disparate health information exchange systems that needed to be integrated with Prime Healthcare’s IT systems to ensure the seamless transition of critical data such as patient records, financial information and inventory data.
With Iguana, Prime Healthcare is able to quickly integrate multiple, diverse solutions including EMRs, EHRs, HISs and PACs. Iguana – an integration engine – enables the seamless transfer of electronic information without the need to replace existing technologies or rewrite code. It also connects legacy healthcare systems and emerging technologies such as cloud computing, enabling organizations to develop, test, deploy and monitor healthcare interfaces with a single web-based interface.
“We’ve dramatically reduced the amount of time and work needed to integrate new hospitals into the Prime Healthcare Services family,” said Raghu Chennareddy, director Imaging Systems, Prime Healthcare Services. “As we continue to grow, we are committed to providing new patients with exemplary care. With iNTERFACEWARE, we’ve increased our overall efficiencies and have streamlined the overall acquisition process, and most importantly, the process is seamless to patients, enabling us to better focus on our core mission.”
“As healthcare organizations continue to consolidate, many are facing daunting IT challenges as they seek to connect numerous, disparate healthcare IT systems,” said Eliot Muir, CEO, iNTERFACEWARE. “Our solution scales to meet their growing needs, enabling healthcare organizations to address new and emerging IT challenges. As a result, healthcare organizations are armed with the tools they need in a rapidly evolving environment.”
