We’ve revamped our company newsletters (are you subscribed?) to highlight our customers and show you some of the people and projects behind iNTERFACEWARE – after all, what is a company without great staff and loyal customers?
So without further ado, here’s the first in our series of customer spotlights, Mission Community Hospital. By moving away from an open-source integration engine, they saved thousands of dollars in development costs while seeing their integration projects go live in a matter of days instead of months.
As A Hospital, What Is Your Mission?
For over 50 years Mission Community Hospital (MCH) has strived to provide a compassionate healthcare environment that takes into account the socioeconomic, language and cultural challenges that often prevent the community from proper access to healthcare.
Before IGUANA, What Were You Using?
MCH was using Mirth Connect (free open-source interface engine) to integrate their MedWrite transcription service and their Carestream PACS system with McKesson’s Paragon (hospital information system).
Why Did You Want to Switch Integration Engines?
MCH was looking to expand their integrated services and wanted to ensure that their small IT staff could handle interface building on top of their existing responsibilities. They not only wanted to reduce development time and costs (paying a third party consulting firm $15,000 per interface wasn’t viable) but were also looking for a scalable solution.
What Do You Like Most About IGUANA?
Yoseph Kassaye, Senior Database Administrator, raves about how IGUANA is one of the easiest pieces of software he has ever used, saying that: “It is very user-friendly, easy to configure and makes troubleshooting interfaces painless.”
IGUANA’s web-based dashboard makes it easy to monitor all of their interfaces: “When it comes to interface maintenance, IGUANA has very detailed and easily customizable logs,” confirms Kassaye. “Filtering and locating errors, warnings and acknowledgements are all very easy with Iguana. It’s a real time saver!”
What Does The Future Hold for MCH?
Since migrating to IGUANA MCH has expanded their integrated services to include all of their external systems as well as a variety of medical devices.
“Scalability is a huge issue for us as we expand our integration efforts,” states Vice President and CIO, Dustin Fennell. “With Iguana, we have not only found a very cost-effective solution, but also one that will meet all our future needs.”
