Iguana User Conference 2016 Recap

Another year, another successful Iguana User Conference in the books.

From the great presentations and networking activities to the beautiful night at the CN tower, we hope that everyone in attendance enjoyed themselves. More importantly, we hope that attendees walked away from the conference with some actionable insights from each presentation. For those who were not able to make it this year, we’ve got a quick recap for you along with some of the memorable moments from the event.

This year’s user conference took place in our hometown, Toronto, Canada on September 21st and 22nd. After a night of introductions and drinks at Radisson Admiral, the conference kicked off proper on September 21st. The first day featured presentations on:

  • High availability,
  • Maximizing integration performance,
  • Enterprise security
  • Improving organizational workflow

After a day of learning, attendees spent the evening relaxing and enjoy some great food at the CN Tower, overlooking downtown Toronto from over 1,150 feet in the air!

After such a great start, it seemed as though the first day of the conference would be hard to top. Fortunately, the iNTERFACEWARE presenters put together some terrific content that we think provided a lot of value for attendees. Casey Trauer, our integration and implementation wizard at iNTERFACEWARE, took a deep dive into one of the hottest topics in integration – FHIR. Aided by his “fantastic freakin’ lasers”, Casey taught attendees the core concepts of: web services, how to connect and interact with FHIR resources, and gave a detailed look on the process of creating a FHIR server.

Our wonderful M.C., Pearce Herchenrader, took the stage next to discuss Clinical Document Architecture and reviewed some considerations and strategies for processing CDA documents. Finally, iNTERFACEWARE’s CEO, Eliot Muir, closed out the conference with his presentation on built-in repositories and shared some of his favourite modules and channels along with our methodology for creating them. All in all, the second day of the conference provided some great actionable insights for getting the most out of Iguana.

So what’s in store for next year? One thing I can tell you is that we are always striving to improve the user conference each and every year, and the feedback that we get from attendees goes a long way in helping us do that.

We pride ourselves at iNTERFACEWARE on creating long-lasting partnerships with our clients and we are truly thankful for all of the those who come out to the conference.

Stay tuned in the coming months for the first details about the 2017 Iguana User Conference!
