Matt Dyer, Director of Integration, Vyne Medical on Choosing Iguana
Vyne Medical provides hospitals and health systems with the technology to convert raw data into actionable information. Serving a growing base of more than 800 hospital and healthcare system clients throughout the U.S., their solutions produce an integrated view of patient health data. Encrypting this information and making it available where it’s needed leads to quicker response times, smoother transitions, as well as improved patient experience and health outcomes. Matt Dyer, Director of Integration at Vyne Medical, specializes in software integration, vendor partner management, technical operations and technical advisement.
How does Iguana meet the individual needs of different types of customers?
Since Vyne Medical services such a vast array of healthcare systems, having one tool that can handle so many different applications has proven to be invaluable. “Iguana has been an excellent fit for our organization,” says Dyer. “We don’t just do one thing and we needed a tool that could handle a wide variety of different scenarios across the board. Iguana delivers excellent flexibility for us to provide the right tool to our team to help manage all of those different scenarios without having the need for different staff for each tool. It makes it really simple to do everything out of one tool that we can use across all of the organizations and all of our technology platforms.”
How does flexibility help you quickly onboard new customers?
Vyne Medical easily repurposes and adapts its standard interfaces built in Iguana. This reduces the amount of time spent writing a new script for each individual client. Iguana’s flexibility means you can have channels set up to handle standard HL7 everyday outputs as well as really complicated client solutions.
“For one client we provided more than 80 channels. There’s significant automation in the workflow and it took us nine months to design and implement a solution for the client. It’s incredibly complicated and it’s something that probably wouldn’t have been thought of otherwise. But that’s the great thing about Iguana; the adaptability allows us to meet both needs. We can quickly spin up standard clients which come in several times each year requesting the same outcomes, but it also allows us the flexibility to meet more complex, custom needs – enabling us to say yes when asked. My desire is to say yes to client requests; never wanting to limit me and my team and Iguana is a big part of helping us do that,” says Dyer.
How does Iguana manage scale?
Iguana’s flexibility means it has the capability to grow along with your business. It can be modified and used for different applications forefficient, trouble-free processing for all of your customers. Dyer’s experience is that Iguana is so easy to use, anyone can learn how to monitor the system, and it provides added benefit because it does so many things.
How is Iguana’s pricing structure a big advantage?
Iguana Enterprise gives Vyne Medical the flexibility it needs to deploy as many channels as necessary to meet the integration needs of its customer. That means its integration team can design the most robust solution without worrying it will drive up integration costs that won’t be covered by the client. “Having a fixed cost structure, gives us a single pricing model, making it simple to quote. Previously if we couldn’t hit a price point that allowed additional channels, we would have to combine a bunch of disparate events and actions into a single channel and that really made it complicated to build, troubleshoot, and maintain, because even the slightest change would affect everything else. Now we can have every separate function in its own channel and we don’t have to worry about bringing all of those things into one place. It really makes our work easier, enabling us to implement best practices,” says Dyer.
