In unprecedented times such as our current COVID-19 global pandemic, health ecosystems require building faster interfaces today, more than ever before. Iguana users over the decades have said the ease to scale rapidly has been one of its defining strengths. A great example to see how fast interfaces can actually be constructed in Iguana using local vs. shared modules is nicely demonstrated in this video highlighting the concept of Separation of Concerns for fast interface scalability.
We know that it can be intimidating to open up Iguana for the first time and just stare at the great blankness, especially if you have little technical experience. This video was designed to help you overcome whatever angst you may have while starting a project. Besides, who doesn’t like a few hacks to help kick-start their projects?
Starter modules like the Iguana Tutorials (if you’re an Iguana newbie, I highly recommend starting here) and the FHIR Server were designed to help get your project going; think of them as building blocks for writing code. While the built-in modules like the Map Data Fields or Julian Date were created to help extend the functionality of what you’ve already written.
As an aside, we realize that we do great stuff here at iNTERFACEWARE and often it gets buried in our Help Center, so these videos and this blog post are designed to highlight some of these pieces. An excellent resource we developed includes our very own iNFODPEDIA, make sure to check it out if you haven’t already.
The built-in modules for faster interface building are all part of the Iguana repositories (lovingly referred to as repos) that have been built into the product so they can easily be leveraged for ease of setup. This article gives you a great overview of the Repos Project which powers the flexibility behind easily moving and importing interfaces. If you’re interested in a deeper-dive into the repos or viewing his webinar, I suggest going through this great complimentary training module.
Today, more than ever during the current situation integration engines need to be able to scale rapidly to meet unprecedented challenges. If you haven’t had a demonstration of Iguana yet, click here to learn more why industry leaders continue to choose us for their interoperability needs.
